Your Original Content is Drowning in AI
Last month I got a DM: "Did an AI write this course?" I stared at the screen for ages. Two weeks of hard work, questioned in a single sentence. If we sell content or build a personal brand, this is only going to happen more often.
Spotify Added a Badge for Real Humans
Spotify just launched a "Verified" badge specifically to separate real artists from AI-generated music. Lin Ke, who has been singing in small Chengdu pubs for ten years, told me: "I finally don't have to compete for space with a pile of AI songs." This isn't a small thing—when AI content is everywhere, "human verification" is our moat. YouTube, Xiaohongshu, WeChat Official Accounts will inevitably follow suit.
We Can Do This Today
This isn't about installing software; it's an action. Money: $0. Time: 5 minutes per platform. Technical barrier: Just filling out a form. First step: Open the platform we use most, search for "verification" or "identity verification," and submit an ID or business license. I got stuck here too—I dragged my feet for half a year because it was a hassle, only to have a client ask if a bot was running my account.
Advice by Stage
For those of us just starting out, let's verify WeChat and the 1-2 most active platforms first; don't overextend. If we've landed 1-2 clients, let's prioritize verifying the platform where clients find us the most. If we're scaling up, having core team members complete verification on major platforms unifies our brand credibility. Not everyone needs this badge; if our business doesn't rely on "human trust," it's fine to skip it for now. But if we make a living off our personal brand, the earlier we verify, the more peace of mind we get.
